The Universal Truth Center for Better Living (UTC) is a member church of the Universal Foundation for Better Living, Inc., an International New Thought Christian organization consisting of churches, study groups, satellite centers, and discussion groups all dedicated to demonstrating the abundant life teachings of Jesus the Christ. A Bible-based New Thought Christian church, located in Miami Gardens, Florida, UTC follows the philosophy of Charles Fillmore, co-founder of the Unity School of Christianity, and offers the freedom and empowerment message of Jesus the Christ to all humanity without distinction. We are looking for an energetic, collaborative, and innovative Executive Family Minister to join our faith community, lead our Youth & Family Ministry and manage UTC’s operations towards the promotion, and realization of UTC’s mission. Reporting to the Senior Minister, the Executive Family Minister shall assist the Senior Minister in the fulfillment of their role as the spiritual leader and CEO of the church.


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, develop and implement all aspects of a balanced Family & Youth ministry to include all age levels in the areas of group building, discipleship, basic UFBL principles and community outreach. Youth programs will be administered each Sunday and as needed in person and/or online. Family programming will take place throughout the calendar year.
  • Support the Senior Minister in UTC’s day-to-day operations and fulfill the role of primary operational officer of the organization.
  • Ensure the operational readiness of the church through leadership and oversight of the support staff performing duties in administration, finance, human resources, supply, and facilities management.
  • Prepare annual budget recommendations to the Budget Planning Committee in consultation with the Ministry Directors.

  • Coordinate activities with the master church calendar and Communicate in a timely manner and as effectively as possible using all available resources (website, email, social media etc.)
  • Keep records of youth, volunteer and adult participation and manage the youth and family budget.
  • Recruit and train Youth Education Teachers, volunteers, and staff to support children, youth and family programs and to ensure adequate volunteer support and adult to youth ratios.
  • Plan, develop and implement intergenerational programs for families (adults) that are geared towards their empowerment.
  • Coordinate the oversight of the church ministries and alert Senior Minister of any areas of opportunities or concerns
  • Teach and preach as assigned and assist the Senior Minister with projects as required.
  • Assist in the Coordination and delivery of counseling sessions, weddings, home and hospital visitations, bereavement support, memorial services, baptisms & christenings for members and friends of UTC.
  • Attend all ministerial, staff, volunteer, and membership meetings as assigned
  • Attend seminars workshops and courses for personal and professional development.
  • Ensure that the “Safe Gatherings” policy is observed in all youth and family ministry settings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Must be a licensed New Thought (e.g., UFBL, Unity) minister or teacher. Bachelor’s degree. Minimum two (2) years’ combined experience working in a Family & Youth ministry and church management experience. Is an active member of UTC or is willing to pursue membership. Must be a strong leader.  Must have the ability to manage the day-to-day operations of a complex organization of staff and volunteers.  Must have proven skills in change management, visioning, conflict resolution and people management.  Must possess excellent communication skills. Must have proven experience in mobilizing and raising lay volunteers and leadership. Background check required.


PREFERRED SKILLS

Trained (or willing to be trained) in the principles as espoused by the Universal Foundation of Better Living. Working knowledge of the history and culture of New Thought, scriptural teachings. Be familiar with youth culture. Keeps current with the trends and issues important to children and youth that allows counseling youth in a language that they understand and respect. Leads by example, should be devoted and self-disciplined. Skills in public speaking, marketing, digital communication (including social media), budgeting, contracts and facility operations strongly preferred.
